A hybrid expert system is an expert system in which the AI system and expert continue to operate alongside each other after the training phase. For example, a medical expert system might offer advice or suggest diagnoses, which the doctor might use to inform theor decison, or possibly respond by inputing additional infornation about the pattient, which may then change the expert system's advice. Hybrid expert systems are a form of {{hybrid human-AI} system.
